How Many Questions Are on the NY Permit Test

Restrictions to Your NY Learner’s Permit
When you do finally get your NY Learner’s Permit, you are only allowed to drive at certain times. You must be accompanied by a licensed driver who is supervising. This driver must be at least 21 years old. You must complete 50 hours of supervised driving and 15 of these hours must be at night.
There are some places you aren’t allowed to drive at any time. You cannot drive on any street inside a park in New York City. You also may not drive on any tunnel or bridge that is under Triborough Bridge and under the jurisdiction of the Tunnel Authority
You may also not drive on the following parkways in Westchester County. Taconic State, Hutchinson River, Cross County, and Saw Mill River are all off-limits to drivers with driver’s permits.
