Directions: To earn your license you must pass a knowledge test and a skills test. Questions on the test come from the Pennsylvania Motorcycle Operator Manual. The knowledge test includes questions on motorcycle safety, operating procedures and general driving knowledge .On the knowledge test, there are 20 questions. Each question has four possible answers. A score of at least 16 is required to pass the test. An on-cycle test will be conducted in an actual traffic environment or a controlled, off-street area. If the on-cycle test is taken on a motorcycle that is 5 brake horsepower or less, an “8” restriction will be placed on the license, prohibiting the person from operating a motorcycle with more than 5 brake horsepower. If the test is taken on a motorcycle with more than three wheels, a “9” restriction will appear on the license, which prohibits the operation of a two-wheeled motorcycle.There is a Spanish version of the motorcycle manual available, but the test cannot be taken in Spanish.
