Directions: This endorsement is required if the driver will pull two or three trailers. To receive this endorsement, applicants must pass a test. The test consists of 20 multiple choice questions. To pass, the applicant must answer at least 16 questions correctly. Each question has four possible answer choices. Test questions come from the Indiana Commercial Driver License Manual. Questions come from chapters covering: Driving Safely, Air Brakes (if applicable), Combination Vehicles and Doubles and Triples. The Double/Triple endorsement can be used with the Class A CDL.

Placed near the front of a trailer.
Placed near the rear of a trailer.
Spread out on a trailer.
Loaded with most weight on the driver’s side of a trailer.
Move over laws require:
Trucks to use the left lane whenever possible.
All vehicles to vacate the lane closest to an emergency vehicle that is stopped with its lights flashing.
All vehicles to use the left lane whenever possible.
All drivers to move into the left lane if a flatbed trailer is in the right lane.
Because of their size, double and triples:
Stop quickly.
Need more room to stop than smaller vehicles.
Can accelerate quickly.
Are easier to maneuver on steep downgrades than smaller vehicles.
If a truck's Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) is not working:
The truck will not have any brakes.
The truck should be driven only at slow speeds.
The truck will still have brakes.
The truck will lack brakes on its left side.
